Grille Selection – Contractor
Enerlogic’s knowledgeable and experienced staff can help you complete the fourth and final step in HVAC design using ACCA Manual T – Air Distribution Basics. Proper sizing and correct distribution system equipment selection prevent drafts, stagnant air, pressure losses and noise issues. We can assist you in selecting, sizing and locating the supply air diffusers, grilles, registers and the return grilles utilizing the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) comprehensive performance data.
Using the room-by-room loads and CFM requirements from our ACCA Manual J heating and cooling load calculations, we analyze how best to distribute the air in each room in order to meet all load requirements (the higher of the heating and cooling CFM requirements from our Manual J calculations).
Using ACCA Manual T, we help uncover:
The best location for:
- Supply registers, diffusers, or grilles.
- Return and filter grilles.
The best choice of equipment in:
The required size for optimal airflow or mixture delivery.
These answers help eliminate problems such as drafts from the moving air or inadequate mixing of air (hot/cold spots). It is possible to provide adequate conditioned air into a room (volume) but still have comfort issues because the air falls at the register (lack of velocity) or is directed to an inappropriate location.
Our staff at Enerlogic would be happy to assist you with all of your ACCA Manual J, S, D and T questions and provide you with both design and installation verification services in a timely manner.
